We turned three months of Sudan's public conversation into a structured conflict record
The Sudan Conversation Report (Edition 01) coded 1,179 events from public posts, April through June 2026, and measured the Framing Gap: the distance between how violence is narrated and where the harm actually lands. Every figure comes from the same Socialhose feed a public-sector team would use.
Narrative named civilians as targets in 18% of violence. The impact reading put civilian exposure at 71%.
The share of civilian-directed violence whose own framing never names civilians as its object.
Of coded conflict events, nearly three-quarters were material violence, not verbal escalation.
Published by Social Knowing, our independent research journal. Figures from the Sudan Conversation Report (Edition 01) derive from the Socialhose Public API and are frozen at publication; the live Sudan Watch board carries the current reading.
